IUPUI's Very Own "Midnight" Madness!

IUPUI and Conseco Fieldhouse are teaming up to bring Midnight (sort of) Madness to Indianapolis and the IUPUI Jaguars. Oh, did I mention TNT (yes, the television station) will be there?

First of all...
Who: IUPUI Men's Basketball
What: JagJam ("Midnight Madness")
When: Friday night after the Pacer's game (about 9:30)
Where: Conseco Fieldhouse
Why: Your first chance to see the 2010-2011 Jaguars!

The Jaguars will have their first practice, usually dubbed Midnight Madness, immediately following the Pacers v Hornets (are they still in Charlotte?) game. It is free to anyone and everyone, and is the first of its kind here at IUPUI in four years.

Funtivities include a three-point competition, slam dunk competition (Smooth, I expect a lot from you), giveaways for IUPUI students, t-shirts going all over the place, and a scrimmage to feature our boys, new and old.

Really, a season preview, all kinds of crazy competitions, all for free. There's no excuse that I can think of that would be worth missing this.

Head Coach Ron Hunter said,
"This opportunity came up for us to take our first practice to Conseco and we felt as though we needed to take advantage of it," Head Coach Ron Hunter said. "The Pacers are gracious enough to give us this chance to move our first practice to their facility and we're excited to do it. I think it's going to be a great way to start the season. Plus, this gives us another opportunity to put our program on a bigger scale and a bigger stage."

Listen guys, we get TWO non-conference home games this year. Two. At they are against IU-Northwest and IU-East. Let's go support our team in their first practice. Besides, who DOESN'T want to see AY5 throw down at little more? Most of us haven't seen Stephen Thomas or any other newcomers play.

Be there! Be loud! Go Jags!

  1. Expecting Big Things from Stephen Thomas this year. I saw him play this summer and was impressed. Not sure why Dayton didnt't play him more. Scott
