SPORTS: Men's Basketball To Play Ball State Twice In 2011

by Michael Hadley

The much anticipated Men's Basketball schedule has yet to be released from the Athletic Department, but there are a few games that popping up on the radar.

IUPUI already know one of their non-conference opponents, Western Kentucky, will be coming to Indianapolis to play in The Jungle on December 10. This new announcement comes from just up the road in Muncie, where on the Ball State basketball schedule it appears the Cardinals will be playing a home and "home" against the Jaguars this winter.

The first of two games will be played in Muncie at Worthen Arena (capacity 11,500) on November 23, the Cardinal's third overall match up of the season and first at home. IUPUI will then "host" Ball State on December 19 at Conseco Fieldhouse, likely one of three games the Jaguars will play just down the road.

Ball State went 19-13 (10-6 MAC) last year, being knocked out of the MAC Championship by Kent State in the semifinal round. They are lead by 6-9 senior forward Jarrod Jones who averaged 14.7 points and 8.4 rebounds per game last year.

The remainder of IUPUI's schedule has yet to be released, however the full Summit League schedule can be found on the Summit League's official website.
