IUPUI takes on WIU tomorrow at Western Hall. IUPUI won the previous game (at The Jungle), but had some trouble with the pesky defense of the Leathernecks.
Sophomore Alex Young the team's second leading scorer, but has had a lot of trouble as of late getting anything to fall. He had the game-tying lay up with 6 seconds left in OT against IPFW, but it was only his fifth&sixth points of the game. He'll bounce back after a long week of practice to have 25, including at least 50% from 3.
Leroy Nobles needs to pick up the slack a little, when he started to cool off, Alex picked up the slack. IUPUI can't afford BOTH to be cool (they're the second and third leading scorers on the team). Look for him to have a quiet 12 and 5.
Robert Glenn has been on a tear lately, winning his 4th Summit League Player of the Week award this year (5th in his career). He absolutely SCHOOLED Oakland's Keith Benson, and had 15/13 against IPFW. He's too athletic for the big guys and too strong for the little guys. He'll have 19 and 7.
John Ashworth has been productive as ever, Billy Pettiford continues to impress me (he'll be a coach at IUPUI one day), and Jon Avery is the best "Sixth Man" on the planet (he's shooting 59.4% from the floor this year!!!!). Nick DeSchepper needs to step up and help run the point with the injury to Freshman (now RS'd) Greg Rice. IUPUI's bench is always strong, but the big three know it's buckle down time. Avery has 10, but the rest feed Rob, Alex, and Roy all game.
IUPUI wins this game by 10.
