Game Review, Game 3: Miami (OH)

What a crazy, crazy game. Up by seven. Down by five. A tip here. A tap there. Wow. Shoulda, coulda, woulda.  Let's do this, I'm exhausted.

Player of the Game:
Julian Mavunga, Miami
Julian wasn't the most jaw-dropping player on the day, but his eight freethrows and seven rebounds helped solidify an extremely close game down the stretch.

Sixth Man of the Game: Mitchell Patton, IUPUI
Mitch played just eight minutes, but he nearly single handedly pushed IUPUI out to a lead and kept them relevant inside. He drew three fouls, was tipping balls out to the perimeter on missed shots, and was absolutely incredible all around. All he has to do is work on his speed and he'll be a major asset inside for the Jaguars down the stretch.

Stat of the Game: 22 of 51
Alex Young took almost half of IUPUI's total shots, going 9-22 (3-7) on the night.

----------

1) Control The Tempo. (50/50)
When they were capable of controlling it, they were playing a hell of a lot better than when they couldn't. It's a rollercoaster ride. I hurt.

2) Take High Percentage Shots. (No.)
I wish I could see the spray chart, but no, they did not.

3) Take The Crowd Out Of It. (50/50)
The crowd was basically a non-factor because the building was terrible, but they did their part.

4) 45% FG; 35% 3P; 80% FT. (So close!!)
39.2% FG; 35.0% 3P; 64.7% FT.

----------

Because it is 2:09 am and we have to leave early tomorrow morning, I'm planning on doing a tournament recap at the end of the weekend (Monday is the weekend...now...at least...shut up...).
