Key Matchup
IUPUI Front Court
vs
IPFW "Front Court"
Besides Trey McCorkle, IPFW has exactly zero players taller than 6-4 playing more than 15 minutes a game. Their go-to guys are between 6-0 and 6-4. IUPUI has got to use their size inside, andAlex will likely be driving to the basket early and often. Christian and Mitch need to dominate the boards.
----------
Keys To The Game
1) Dominate Early.
IPFW has faced a medicore (316/345) schedule so far, including the four worst teams in the Summit League (Centenary, WIU, UMKC, and Southern Utah). Starting the game hot and intense could rattle the Dons.
2) Execute.
Defensive breakdowns and simple mistakes have been tearing up the IUPUI strategy. Making shots is important, but there are a million little things that don't involve percents or statistics. Come off the screen quickly. Force quick shots. Communicate. WIN.
3) Kick Their A$$e$.
OH SNAP. IUPUI and IPFW always get into it. Last year, IPFW students and fans came down and made us in the Red Zone look bad. We need to return the favor in Fort Wayne both on the court and off of it.
4) 48% FG; 80% FT; 43% 3P.
BONUS! Open The Lane For Stephen Thomas
Stephen is freakishly good at scoring that little floater through the lane. Clearing out the interior defense (see "Key Matchup") and letting him blow by everyone could be the difference at the end.
