Samaritan's Feet

Directly from samaritansfeet.org:
Samaritan’s Feet is a non-profit organization dedicated to changing lives through Shoes of Hope distributions around the world. 300 million people wake up each morning without a pair of shoes to protect their feet from injury and disease. The goal of Samaritan’s Feet is to provide shoes to 10 million of these individuals in the next 10 years by teaching them a biblical story of faith, hope, and love, demonstrating those truths in touching them by washing their feet, and treating them to a new pair of shoes and socks.
If you can't make it to the game, or don't have a spare pair of shoes, you can text SHOES to 85944 and to make a $5 donation to Samaritan's Feet. That small donation is enough to give a child a pair of shoes. Please, help any way that you can. If we all do our part, we can help a significant number of children while helping prevent disease and injury.

Key Matchup

IUPUI Perimeter Play
vs
SDST Perimeter Play
Though IUPUI isn't the best perimeter shooting team, South Dakota State is the worst three-point defense team in the nation (345th). The IUPUI perimeter defense isn't great, but they still only allow 35.9% shooting, and SDST is going to attempt to exploit it as the #5 superhoop shooting team nationally. The team with the better three point shooting will be the winner.

Keys To The Game

Nate Wolters
1) Stop Nate Wolters.
A few other bloggers around the Summit League who have seen him play all agree: This is the next Ben Woodside. He can dribble-penetrate and score inside, kick the ball out and find the open man, as well as knock down shots at will. Expect Stephen Thomas to be his shadow all night long.

2) Share The Wealth.
When IUPUI only has two guys scoring, they are a weak, vulnerable team. If the offense can find multiple people on every possession, the SDST defense will be forced to pick their poison. IPFW demonstrated this kind of "Oh Sh*t" defense in the second half collapse last weekend, allowing Leroy, Alex, Christian, and Stephen to shred them however they wanted to. If the Jags run away with this one, they'll have at least three guys in double figures.

3) Keep Rebounding Well.
Despite a lack of interior size, IUPUI's rebound percent (equation: rebounds/total opposition missed shots) is 52.5% in conference, good for second best. South Dakota State is at a "meager" 49.8%, seventh in the League. IUPUI has four players averaging over 3.0 rebounds per game in Summit League games, including Christian's 7.2 and Alex's 6.3.

4) 48% FG; 83% FT; 40% 3P.

  1. So many things going on in this game, but I must say the best is the reminder of the Jackrabbits Are Not Scary sign. That thing was/is pure gold. One of my favorite Summit League memes.
