The Men's Basketball season won't begin until November, but the schedule is beginning to piece itself together.
Besides the previously determined Summit League match ups, Western Kentucky of the Sun Belt Conference has surfaced as a definite opponent in the upcoming 2011-12 campaign. According to the WKU Men's Basketball website, the Hilltoppers will travel to Indianapolis on December 10 as a part of what is, so far, a miniature road trip that will begin in Carbondale, Ill. against Southern Illinois University on December 7.
Western Kentucky has seen declining success since a Sweet Sixteen run in the 2008 NCAA National Tournament and a 25-9 record. In 2009-10, WKU went 21-13 and missed the NCAA Tournament all together, and in 2010-11 they limped to a 16-16 record.
IUPUI is 0-1 against the Hilltoppers all time, losing their only meeting in 2005 by a final score of 89-75 in Bowling Green, Ky. The match up is the first leg of a home-and-home contract between the two schools.
