SPORTS: Volleyball Drops Key Match To UMKC

by Candis Cunningham

IUPUI volleyball dropped a key Summit League match 3-2 to UMKC on Friday night in The Jungle.
UMKC rallied back from a 2-0 deficit to win the last three sets, 25-23, 25-22, and 15-13. The loss gave the ladies a 6-8 record in the Summit League, and Saturday night they face another conference foe, South Dakota.

Moriah Fair finished with 20 kills and 30 digs, which was the best of her career and the second in school history.

“We have to have a better effort from start to finish in these matches,” said head coach Steve Payne. “If we want to compete in our conference we have to have a great effort against everybody we play and we didn’t have that tonight.”

Tomorrow’s conference matchup will be hosted in the Jungle at 7 p.m. The Jaguars are in desperate need of a hot streak as only the top four teams make it to the Summit League Tournament.
